The hands-on, minds-on workshop is great for Agile practitioners and business leaders exploring routes to change. It offers some practical ways to understand your current organisation’s “change” personality and examines new forms and methods of change that are crucial for Business Adaptability and Agility.While there has been a great deal of research and discussion around organisational transformation and the reasons for creating businesses with Agility and Adaptability, little consideration has been given to the process of change itself.
With this in mind, we will consider a key question, “What is your current business-change style?" Knowing the answer to this is extremely important in business-transformation efforts, particularly if you are embarking on a journey to Business Adaptability and Agility.
We will use a 4x4 matrix, which I call the “CAFÉ Change Planner,” and I have used it with C-Suite leaders, middle managers and change teams and they have had enlightening discoveries and fantastic results!
C = Commanding
A = Adapting
F = Firefighting
É = Emerging
Within this context, we will look at:
· the dominant change approach within any given business.
· the most effective change approach for Business Adaptability and Agility.
· how to create a simple language for Agilists and business leaders to exchange change ideas.
· better ways to approach the very process of change itself.
Recognising your current change personality will help you understand where you are, where you need to be, and critically, ways to change the way you change.
